This is part of a series, but is still wonderful as a stand-alone. The ancient Egypt details make this story feel so real! The author’s descriptions are detailed, but not excessively wordy. There is humor, action, vampires, magic, and of course, steamy romance. The hero is beyond hot and very powerful. He is arrogant, but meeting his mate, brings out another side to him. The heroine hasn’t really been living, but the hero speaks to her heart and other places! Can a strong, modern woman and a powerful, ancient Egyptian vampire find their happily ever after? Of course they can, this is a paranormal romance with a HEA ending and no cliff hangers! If you have never read a Vampire Assassin League story, this one is worth giving a try.Product details

I love learning about ancient Egypt. But seeing Geena deal with Sokar's arrogance was so good. She put him in his place. It was so intense watching Geena come to terms with everything. I did cry with Sokar at one point. You must read this one it is Jackie's best so far.
To start Geena is a bad ass lady. Sokar is a very old Egyptian . For me this story was a little more serious than other assassin league books I've read. It seemed like Geena really had no clue how she effected Sokar. This was a good read in that it delved deeper into both of their emotions. She had a very hard life and he had no idea how to handle a woman. Thank you Jackie for another awesome book.
Like all the other Vampire Assassin books, this was just perfect! Things got really intense there a couple times, and I admit, I cried. Yep, still drying my eyes because I just finished the book. I read it in one sitting, like I do every book in this series, because I just can't put them down. You have to read this, and you're going to love it!
I love the VAL! As Long As ia a great addition to the series. Sokarhotep, Sokar, is a 4,000 year old son of an Egyptian Pharaoh, and an inactive VRL agent. Tomb raiders steal some of his treasues, and he sets out to hunt them down. A true curse. Geena is a Masaud agent who's cover is in ancient artifacts. Geena and Sokar meet when he tracts the tomb raiders to her. A fun and steamy read. Loved the Egyptian theme. A vampire, mummy is just the thing for Halloween!
Sokar a 4 thousand year old vampire
Geena a girl who lost her family and likes to travel the world for very rare artifacts but what she finds is a man who is more than a man of mystery but also someone she fights with in what way well read to find out this is the last so far of the VAL books though i doubt the last of last books . and the fifth book of the 5 books i needed to play catch up with ,. i do know i love reading but there is just not enough hours to read all the books i want to read lol
What can I say that I have not already said about Jackie Ivie???!!! This woman takes you on a ride that you don't want to get off. Sokar and Geena are the characters of this best seller! He is a pharaoh that is over 3000 years old, Geena is something of a mystery she has skills that have honed to a massive point by the time they meet. And what a meeting it is. 5'4 sheRo up against a 6'5 hero who gonna check them? Only themselves come find out what happens next. I will and have recommended this book and series to all my friends and book lovers
Sokar and Geena are great together. It never fails that whenever a new Jackie Ivie VAL book comes out it jumps to the top of my TBR pile no matter what. This book does not fail to entertain.
Sokar is unique in the vampires Jackie has presented -- he's practically a god from Egypt and has cut himself off from the world and stopped taking jobs for VAL.
